What is The MBS British Invasion Walking Tour Challenge?

This challenge is a movement-based, personal tracking device challenge. The goal is simple: encourage you to move more, have a good time, and take the next step in your personal wellness. Once registered for the challenge, you will join a team of 6 people.

Visit the portal to see the leaderboards and encourage your teammates to get walking. Each week you will receive an email announcing team and individual leaders and the incentives they have won for walking, running, or sprinting the furthest.

How do I join The 2016 British Invasion Walking Tour Challenge?

Registration is open between September 8-21. The challenge begins on Sept 26. If you have an existing MBS Wellness account, you can LOG IN and join the Challenge with your existing username and password. If you do not have an existing MBS Wellness account, you can SIGN UP to join the Challenge and create your username and password.

What are the participation parameters of this challenge?

The goal is to encourage participants to walk an average of 10,000 steps a day. That may sound like a lot, but it is just 5 miles. Studies show that people who walk 10,000 steps a day experience health benefits such as reduced blood pressure, weight loss, and improved glucose levels.

How do I participate if I already own a tracking device?

Our challenge portal automatically syncs with Fitbit or Polar devices. Once you are logged into the challenge portal, you can link your Fitbit or Polar account with the challenge by going to the App Linking section and following the directions to link your account.

The challenge will also connect with any device or app that syncs with Apple Health or Google Fit. New apps and devices are linking to Apple Health and Google Fit each week. Find out more details when you are logged into your wellness account.


Can I participate without a tracking device?

This challenge requires a personal tracking device in order to participate.

What are some recommended pedometer apps for Apple or Android devices?

The challenge will sync with any app or device that is synced with Apple Health or Google Fit. Here are a couple of resources to help you find a suitable pedometer app:

What if I am away for business or on vacation?

Your personal tracker doesn’t care where you are as long as you take a moment to sync your device. Continue to wear your tracker and every step you take will be counted to your team and individual total.
